Inga Geach

Inga joined Building Cornwall during the summer 2019 after having previously worked as the Head of Sustainability for national construction business Willmott Dixon. With a keen interest in improving not only the environmental but also social sustainability of our sector Inga is looking forward to meeting local construction businesses and working together to improve collaboration within the sector and promote and share best practice.
Inga is particularly interested in tackling the skills shortage our sector is facing and working towards changing the image of the industry by promoting construction as a ‘career of choice’. Especially passionate about working with young people Inga is keen inspire the next generation of considering a career in the Built Environment in order to provide talent for our exciting pipeline of construction projects.

Scott James

Scott has worked in the development and construction sector across client and consultancy roles for nearly 20 years, including development of major projects, Project Director roles, funding and the establishment of sector bodies to support sector strategy and governance.

Scott is keen to support the existing bodies working within the Cornish construction sector more effective through joint working, and enabling the region to take a lead through innovation in new commercial models which can help achieve a genuine improvement in the quality of the built environment.

Simon Caklais

Simon is a Chartered Construction Manager with over 30 years’ experience in the Industry, managing major capital investment portfolios and programmes, as well as leading the strategic development and operations of construction businesses.

Simon has been at the forefront of industry innovation and best practice, from the time “Rethinking Construction” was launched and he has pioneered a number of progressive industry initiatives including digital and off-site manufacturing solutions.

Recently, Simon led a lean transformational change programme to improve the productivity, performance and profitability of a Cornish construction & development business, which subsequently became the first company worldwide to attain the new ISO 18404 standard in Lean & Six Sigma.

Simon is also a non-executive Director of the CIOS Local Enterprise Partnership and Chair of Cornwall’s Construction Executive. He is passionate about working collaboratively with local partners, to drive improvements in the skills and capacity of the industry in Cornwall, in order to increase productivity and support sustainable growth in the region.
